FUCTAK (The Federation of University and College Teachers’ Associations in Karnataka), in two separate meetings with the Chief Minister and Higher Education Minster on 5th and 6th November at Bangalore, discussed several issues including the release of UGC Scale arrears..
The official meeting convened by the Higher Education Minister Sri C.T. Ravi on 5th November, issues like the release of long pending UGC Pay Scale arrears, anomalies in UGC pay fixation, revising the pension benefits, issues of Government college teachers, filling up of vacancies in aided colleges, etc were discussed. After giving a patient hearing in the 3 hour meeting, the Hon’ble Higher Education Minister gave specific directions to officials to solve the problems within a time frame.
Mr Siddaiah, I.A.S, Principal Education Secretary, Mr.Umashankar, I.A.S., Commissioner for Collegiate Education, Director and Additional Director of Collegiate Education and several other officials from the Education Department were present
The delegation of FUCTAK met the Chief Minister Sri Jagadish Shettar in his official residence office “Krishna” on 6th November to discuss the issues of Higher Education and the pending arrears to the tune of approximately Rs.850 crores. Hon’ble Chief Minister assured the delegation to initiate steps for releasing UGC arrears. The Political Secretary to CM, Mr.Shankar Patil Munenahalli and Mr.Mohan Limbekai, MLC were present on this occasion..
