Mangaluru, November 18
More than 600 college teachers gathered at Besant College Auditorium, Mangaluru to prepare for the proposed protest on recent circular of DCE on 22 hours of workload for college teachers. It was a huge meeting of teachers belonged to Private-Aided, Government Colleges, Management Paid Staff and Guest Lecturers. The meeting unanimously decided to oppose and protest against the recent order of Director of Collegiate Education on the 22 hours of workload for college teachers.
Dr A.M. Narahari, former president of FUCTAK and AMUCT briefed the impact of this order on all teachinng community and urged for the unity and protest against the circular.
Dr Norbert Lobo, President AMUCT, gave an introduction on the recent circulars from the department of Collegiate Education and urged the members to take a strong decision against the circular . He also informed that the plan of action for state-wide will be decided in the Federation Meeting on November 22.
Dr Ummappa Poojary, former President of AMUCT welcomed the gathering and moderated the session. Leaders of the teacher movement spoke on the occasion and urged for the strong protest against the order.
