Six member AMUCT  delegation headed by Dr Norbert Lobo participated in the AIFUCTO Rally at Jantar Mantar at New Delhi and thereafter to Parliament March to press on the demands of teachers.

The demands are:

1. IMMEDIATE MHRD APPROVAL OF UGC DECISIONS ON 3RF AMENDMENTS OF UGC REGULATIONS-2010
2.  HRM APPOINMENT TO AIFUCTO TO DISCUSS THE LONG STANDING PROFESSIONAL DEMANDS
3. ALLOCATE 6 PER CENT GDP TO EDUCATION IN THE BUDGER 2015-16
4.IMMEDIATELY CONSTITUTE V11 PAY REVISION COMMITTEE
5. STRENTHEN PUBLIC FUNDED EDUCATION
6. REGULATE PRIVATE SECTOR INSTITUTION
7. ENSURE REGULAR PENSION SCHEME & REJECT PENSION SCHEME-2004
8. CONSULT TEACHERS’ ORGANISATIONS ON EDUCATION POLICIES

Dr Norbert Lobo addressed the Rally by adding specific problems faced by the College Teachers of Karnataka especially on 22/26 hours of workload, problems on notional increment, withdrawal of Ph D benefits and non implementation of promotion to Associate Professorship.

On March 14, Dr Lobo presented the same views in the National Executive Meeting  (NEC) of AIFUCTO and appealed the AIFUCTO leadership to take up these issues at National Level.

The other members of the delegation were Dr Ummappa Poojary, former President of AMUCT, Mr Charles Pais, treasurer of AMUCT, Dr Denis Fernandes, Bulletin Editor, and  Mr John Sherra,& Dr Ronald Nazareth representing St Aloysius College.
