First MCM of AMUCT for the year 2015-16 was held on 12th September 2015 at 2. 30 pm at AMUCT Office. The president briefed the house about the recent developments in higher education at national, state and regional levels. The major issues discussed were proposed strike at Janthar Manthar, notices issued by the department with regard to placements, pending arrears to some colleges, UGC arrears and university exams. Dr. Ummappa Poojary, Dr Hayavadana Upadhyaya and Prof. M Ganapathi Bhat participated in the discussion with regard to university exams. It was resolved to meet the VC and discuss the matter with him. The other major issue discussed was non-sanction of increments to deputed staff of one of the colleges. Many members participated in the discussion. It was resolved to write letters to the management of the concerned college.
The president Dr. Norbert Lobo briefed the house regarding the details of UGC arrears. It was resolved to leave it to the discretion of the members to seek legal remedy. It was decided to organize two days workshop on Entrepreneurial Development and Skill Enhancement for students of UG programmes at St Aloysius (Autonomous) College.
