Dr Ashalatha S Suvarna, Associate professor of Commerce, Sri Gokarnanatheshwara College, Mangalore, was awarded Ph D by Mangalore University for her thesis on Marketing of Family Planning and Infant Health Care Programmes in Rural Areas: A Study with reference to Dakshina Kannada District. She was successfully guided by Professor of Research and Studies in Commerce and the Registrar of Mangalore University, Dr P.S Yedapadithaya.
Dr Ashalatha has presented papers in International, National and State Level Conferences and also has several publications to her credit. She has bagged the best paper presentation award at the International Conference held at Annamalai University in 2009. She has edited books, Bantwala Itihasa Darshana, Confluence, and Sanchi and general articles appeared in edited volumes and papers.
She is actively involved in public life and has contributed to the society in Tulu Baduku Museum along with her husband, Sri Tukaram Poojary. She is the Secretary of Rani Abbakka Tulu Study Centre at Sanchayagiri, B.C. Road.
