The General Council Members led by President of FUCTAK met Dr B. L. Bhagyalakshmi, Director of Collegiate Education at her Office on August 7 and had a lengthy meeting of two hours from 6.15 pm to 8.15 pm. In the meeting the members highlighted their unhappiness regarding the contents of some of the circulars issued by the Officials of the department. The delegation also highlighted the problems faced by Private aided colleges due to the fall in admissions to traditional degree courses and its consequences. The Director was requested not to redeploy the excess staff till the admission process completes. It was also brought to her notice the possible problems if instead of minimum strength for subjects; the combination is taken into consideration. The delegation also assured her to extend its full support in her efforts to improve the quality of teaching and learning in Government Colleges.
