PROCEEDINGS OF THE CORE COMMITTEE MEETING IN THE PRESENCE OF PROF.ASHOK BARMAN, AIFUCTO GENERAL SECRETARY

The 2nd Core Committee Meeting of AIFUCTO Statutory Conference was held at AMUCT Office, on September 7, 2013 . In the meeting 26 members were present.
Prof.Ashok Barman, Gen.Secretary of AIFUCTO was personally present.
General Secretary of AMUCT Sri Purushothama K V welcomed Prof. Ashok Barman , and the members of AMUCT.
Conference Chairman Dr. A M Narahari, while appreciating the pains taken by Prof.Barman to visit Mangalore to oversee the preparations, briefed the meeting about the preliminary preparations for the conference with an online presentation;
- Conference Dates: 29th November, 1 & 2 December 2013
- Venue: Loyola Hall, St.Aloysius College Campus, Mangalore
- Conference Logo has been designed
- Theme of the Seminar: “Changing Paradigms of Higher Education: 12th Five Year Plan Initiatives]. Appeal is being made through brochure and circular to send papers on the sub-themes. Details are uploaded.
- Conference Brochure: Finalised. Submitted for printing
- Conference Account: Separate Account has been opened in Karnataka Bank Kodialbail branch
- Conference Circular: Finalised in consultation with Prof.Ashok Barman. Will be uploaded on both aifucto and amuct websites
- Advertisement Tariff: Finalised. Details are included in the brochure and the circular. Will be uploaded on the websites
- Other Details: Registration, Conference Venue, how to reach Mangalore, important places to visit, etc. are being uploaded. Separate printed forms will be made available. Registration fee per head has been fixed at Rs.1300/-. AIFUCTO & FUCTAK office bearers are exempted from paying the registration fee. Similarly former presidents, gen.secretaries of AIFUCTO and General council members of FUCTAK will not be charged.
10. Various Committees: Constituted. Details are included in the brochure, circular and also uploaded in the website
11. Finance: It is estimated that the total expenditure could be Rs.30 lakhs. It was decided to request the affiliates of AIFUCTO & FUCTAK to raise resources through advertisements.
12. Souvenir: Articles are being invited.
13. Accomodation: it is expected that about 800-1000 delegates may register and accommodation arrangements are to be made. Generally accommodation is provided for 3 days. The facility is extended by a day for those who arrive the previous day of the conference.
14. Food and Refreshments: Arrangements are made to ensure that every one will get it without inconvinience. Will be available from the morning breakfast on 29th November.
15. Other Arrangements: Cultural programmes, guests for the conference, conference kit are being worked out.
Dr. Narahari requested the members to contribute scholarly articles for the conference souvenir.
Dr. Denis Fernandes, the editor of AMUCT Bulletin and Website assisted to display the AMUCT website in the meeting, in which all the conference related matters are uploaded.
Prof. Ashok Barman, the General Secretary of AIFUCTO appreciated AMUCT for its overall preparations for the Conference. He also pointed out that there is a difference between Statutory Conference and Academic Conference. He stressed that more comprehensive preparations are required due to large number of participants as this is a statutory conference. He appreciated the efforts of AMUCT to have organized a conference of this magnitude within three and a half months’ notice.
Prof. Barman offered the following suggestions for the success of the conference:
- To prepare Conference brochure with the provision of group registration.
- Requested to upload the appeal in the website.
- To make a separate Conference Poster.
- To call press meet before the conference, during the conference and after the conference.
- Office arrangement for election purpose separately.
- To find a suitable time in the conference to honour veteran leaders of teacher movement.
- To keep the last date for registration as 10th November, 2013.
Prof. Barman requested not to collect any registration fee from the AIFUCTO present office bearers and past presidents & General Secretaries in order to recognize their contribution to the organization.
Dr. Norbrt Lobo, the president and Organizing Secretary of the conference proposed vote of thanks and requested all the members to extend fullest cooperation to make the event a memorable one.
